Meet Tautanz, a sustainable luxury brand making eco-friendly goods

tautanz was born out of the desire for eco-friendly goods with a modern and elegant aesthetic.

While travelling around the globe, founder Isabel Theissen was inspired to explore natural linen as more sustainable and luxurious alternative for homeware products. Based near Porto at the time, she connected with local manufacturers who still honour artisan craftsmanship to develop a line of luxurious, eco-friendly bath accessories. tautanz officially launched in Amsterdam 2019.

At tautanz they believe in living consciously. They create elegant, eco-friendly goods that ensure luxury comfort while supporting the well-being of your body and the environment.

They value premium quality made under fair and sustainable conditions. All their products are handmade by experienced artisans in Portugal.

They only use natural ingredients and enduring materials to reconnect with nature and our inherent self. The ingredients for their soaps are sourced from local suppliers in the heart of Portugal. Their linen comes from a family-owned company in the North of France and is certified with the MASTERS OF LINEN®, EUROPEAN FLAX® & OEKO-TEX® certificates.

They embrace the native qualities of linen. Since the fabric naturally becomes softer with each use and wash, they only use untreated linen that is neither stonewashed nor dyed. Like this, they can guarantee a high-quality natural product while reducing chemicals and water waste during the production process.

They follow a ‘plastic-free’ approach. Their packaging is made of biodegradable materials, such as recycled paper or linen, to deliver our goods in an eco-friendly way.

Giving back is very important to them. They donate a minimum of 1% of our monthly profits to The Ocean Cleanup to support their mission to re-create a healthy, waste-free ocean habitat.

tautanz is a fictional German word (tau = dew | tanz = dance), describing a pure and joyful moment of dew drops dancing on the grass in the early morning hours.
